Fraud on the Internet

Fraud on the Internet is no different than fraud anywhere else. Because the parties often don’t know each other, the chances of fraud taking place on the Internet are similar to the telemarketing fraud that occurs every day around the world.

Some of our Fraud Detection measures…

The best method to prevent fraud is to know who you are engaging during a PremiumCHAT session.

PremiumCHAT does not assure you that the party you are engaged with is who they represent themselves to be or that they are qualified or licensed to deliver the services or information they are providing. However…

  1. PremiumCHAT has partnered with Cardservice International (First Data Corporation) to assure that a BSP (Business Service Provider) who applies for an Online Merchant Account to accept credit cards meets a certain set of criteria. Using one of the world’s largest banking-like databases as well as advanced fraud detection algorithms and state-of-the–art risk-analysis techniques, Cardservice International strives to protect both the consumer (Client) and the BSP (Business Service provider) against fraud using Cardservice International Merchant Accounts.

  2. The BSP and Client both must logon with their personal logon ID and password. No two logon names are alike. Unless this individual security has been compromised, the person you are communicating with is who represent themselves to be in the PremiumCHAT system. This does not mean they are qualified or licensed to deliver the services or information they are providing. There are several methods you can use to determine that a BSP is who they say they are, including online access to professional organizations, consumer affairs, local Better Business Bureaus or national and state registries.

  3. PremiumCHAT is a third-party time keeper. We do not have a vested interest in the online transaction, as all money passes directly from the Client to the BSP via the BSP’s Online Merchant Account, unless the BSP chooses to bill you directly in some other manner, using only the session timer. As a third-party time keeper neither the BSP nor Client can access or change the PremiumCHAT secure timer’s functions or reporting.

  4. PremiumCHAT is also about three fundamental aspects of a basic business relationship between the BSP and their Clients…

      (a) Secure Business Rate Agreement - this takes place before any charges between a BSP/Client can be started. During this unlimited period of chatting back and forth each party can proposed and counter propose a rate. No Timed Rate (billing) can occur until both parties agree on a rate. The rates can be:

        i. Flat Rate – although the session is timed, the final charges are not related to time. If you agree to a Flat Rate that will be the total you are charged even if the session lasts less than a minute. There is no time limit on a Flat Rate.

ii. Hourly Rate - a timed session with the charges calculated accordingly. Basically this is a Minute Rate divided into 60 minute and 60 second segments.

iii. Minute Rate - a timed session with the charges calculated accordingly at the agreed per Minute Rate.

      (b) Timed Live Session (variable chat security) – after the Business Rate Agreement and both parties agree to the Rate your progress to the live session. Prior to the start of the live session, an address-verification and reserve of funds-available is done on the Clients credit card (if a credit card is chosen as the method of payment). Once the live session timer starts you can communicate in any manner, including using the chat application provided. To use the telephone you must be able to maintain your Internet connection and have the ability to make a phone call without disconnecting the Internet. If you plan on using the telephone, you will need two phone lines, a mobile phone, DSL or a cable modem.

      (c) Transaction Billing – Once the session is terminated (by either party) the billing is calculated based on the Business Rate Agreement. This data is transmitted via the LinkPoint International (First Data Corporation) secure gateway.
